She was born November 10, 1934 in Southfield, MI, the daughter of Francis Vern & Ada Lucille (Campbell) Dowling. She has been a Battle Creek resident since age 4 and was a 1954 graduate of St. Philip Catholic High School. She worked at Shrank's Cafeteria several times from 1955 – 1986.
