John David Ackerman, 87, of Bellevue, died December 7, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born July 24, 1925, the son of Floyd and Evelyn (Middlesworth) Ackerman in Swartz Creek. John served in the U. S. Navy from November 1943 through April 1946 in the Philippines during World War II. He graduated from Navy Diesel Engineering School at Navy Pier in Chicago.
